Ethan Cobb is a senior at Harvard University majoring in Applied Mathematics with a focus in music. He is currently principal cello of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra and a member of the Brattle Street Chamber Players. Ethan has also served as principal cello of the Juilliard Pre-College, Sarasota Music Festival, and World Youth Symphony orchestras. Before attending Harvard, he attended the Juilliard Pre-College Division where he studied with Sieun Lin. Ethan was a prizewinner in the 2017 National YoungArts, International Grande, East Coast International, Alexander and Buono, AADGT, Bronx Arts Ensemble Young Artists, and Lyra Summer Music competitions.

As a finalist in the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, he was awarded 3rd Prize for his performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto. He's also made solo appearances with the Riverdale Country School and Bronx Arts Ensemble orchestras with performances of the Saint-Saens, Elgar, and Dvorak Cello Concertos, respectively. He has attended the Aspen, Sarasota, Orford, PyeongChang, and Interlochen music festivals where he studied with Richard Aaron, Desmond Hoebig, Eric Kim, and Astrid Schween. Ethan has appeared in masterclasses with Alisa Weilerstein, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Brinton Smith, Lluis Claret, and Michel Strauss as well as a chamber music masterclass with the Emerson String Quartet. He currently studies privately with Richard Aaron and is an intern at NASA Langley Research Center.
