This event is hosted together with Musical Mentors Collaborative, Virtu.Academy's nonprofit partner. MMC is a 501(c)(3) organization expanding access to student-centered music instruction, mentorship, and instruments for young people who would not otherwise have access. Emanuel Ax is a Grand Mentor for MMC, joining a group of world-renowned musicians who offer their expertise, mentorship, and resources to further the organization's work. Funds from this special partnership help MMC students receive free and subsidized music education and mentorship.
About Emanuel Ax
Emanuel Ax is one of the most celebrated pianists of our time. A seven-time Grammy Award winner, he has performed with the world's leading orchestras and appears regularly on the great concert stages of North America, Europe, and Asia.
Born in what is now Lviv, Ukraine, Ax studied at The Juilliard School and rose to international prominence after winning the first Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in 1974. Beyond the concert hall, he is a devoted mentor and educator, known for his generosity in sharing his artistry with the next generation of musicians — making this masterclass a rare and inspiring opportunity.
Mr. Ax is also a Grand Mentor for Musical Mentors Collaborative. Grand Mentors are world-renowned musicians who offer their expertise, mentorship, and resources to further MMC's work. Through this special partnership, Mr. Ax will present a masterclass for the Virtu.Academy community, with all funds helping MMC students access free and subsidized music education and mentorship.
