Alex Dergal currently lives in Kansas City, Kansas where he dedicates his time to teaching music to the youngest in the community. For Alex, teaching music lessons is an all encompassing pedagogy, as is reflected in his mission statement: utilizing music to instill within students the confidence and skills they need to navigate the world around them. He also pursues performance opportunities on both clarinet and saxophone for classical and jazz repertoires. Alex holds degrees in music performance from Oberlin Conservatory, the Depaul School of Music, and the Yale School of Music. His primary teachers include Richard Hawkins, Stephen Williamson and David Shifrin. In his free time Alex reads books, writes stories, memorizes poetry and rides his bike.
