British born violinist Anthony Sabberton began taking Suzuki method violin lessons at the age of 3. By the age of 10, Anthony was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music, London, winning a full scholarship and eventually graduating with a bachelor’s degree. Anthony continued his Post Graduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Maurice Hasson and had the opportunity to learn with many of the world’s greatest violinists such as Donald Weilerstein, Maxim Vengerov and Pamela Frank. Anthony graduated with a First-Class Performance Diploma in 2007.

Anthony has enjoyed a busy performance schedule in major concert venues throughout the world as soloist and chamber musician. He was awarded the Diapason d’Or Award for his recording on the German classics CPO label with the London Steve Reich ensemble, and as part of the Orpheum festival at the Tonhalle, Zurich. As part of the Cappa String Quartet, Anthony performed throughout Europe and Asia, also winning 1st prize at the Royal Overseas League in London. Anthony was also a prize winner at the Menuhin International Violin Competition.

As well as being an active performer, Anthony has over 17 years of teaching experience, enjoying success with students moving on to schools such as the Manhattan School of Music, Chetham’s School of Music and The Yehudi Menuhin School. Anthony also specializes in teaching ABRSM to students of all ages and abilities. He enjoys working towards short term goals and allowing students to quickly build their confidence and enjoy the process of learning the violin. Anthony believes that it is an excellent way to build knowledge and incrementally unlock a student’s musical potential.
