Soprano Hanna Shykind is a musical theater/opera cross-over artist with off-broadway credits and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Neuroscience from Oberlin College and Conservatory. Hanna studied acting and vocal technique at Oberlin, as well as the Moscow Art Theater School in Russia. She has worked professionally in New York City and across the United States, premiering new works in opera and musical theater. After graduating, she made her off-broadway debut as Pam in The Office! A Musical Parody in New York City. Most recently, she worked with Tony award winner Michael R. Jackson on a new musical through Playwrights Horizons, and she appeared in the premiere of a new opera based on Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment at Bluegrass Opera and Music Theater in Kentucky.

Hanna has experience teaching students of all ages and all abilities. She has been a teaching artist for many years at Kaiser's Room, an autism accessible arts education non-profit based in New York City. Her forté is in creating foundational technique and fostering a love for singing and story telling with beginner students. She believes in creating a warm and exploratory learning environment, so that her students can grow into their voices and find out who they are as vocal artists, and push forward with curiosity and bravery.
